From as soon as we put in our order for a restored K6 telephone kiosk, Carl was friendly, helpful and informative. Wherever there was a choice about the approach to be taken to its restoration, he offered it to us, guiding us through the options available, and at every stage he kept us up to date with photographs of the work in progress. The finished item has now arrived, delivered by Carl's equally amiable and helpful colleague Will, and we are wholly delighted with it. We had formed high expectations from the photographs, but the excellence of the restoration exceeds those expectations.

The K6 is a classic from a bygone era. It hails from a time where customer service was not a buzzword but a realistic expectation that one did not need to demand - it just appeared. Fortunately Remember When UK has actually "remembered when" (sic) such courtesies were commonplace and has continued this fine tradition. From the first pre-sales enquiry to the post-delivery follow-up, Remember When has been diligently providing timely updates and photographs of its expert restoration of a K6 that has been "uprooted" from Dear 'Ol Blighty and delivered to Finland much to the amusement and admiration of many locals! However, it has not been so easy to convince everyone that the phone box was installed in order to make cheaper phone calls back to the UK :)

After investigating several firms, and local salvage yards (whom many asked well over the odds) It soon became apparent that Carl offered a service that was unbeatable in terms of cost and also sheer friendliness! He was able to deliver & install a fully glazed unrestored K6 on the drive, with delivery from Kings Lynn to Derby at the same price a local salvage firm was able to do for an example in poor condition. The E-mail's just started to flow. It was soon evident that Carl was driven to restore these iconic items through true passion, and rightfully takes pride in the service he offered.I also recognised that underneath the professionalism, there is a superb sense of humour and nothing is too much trouble.
If you are planning on acquiring a K6, look no further!

I would like to thank you for the excellent restoration of our Georgian Crowned 1935 Telephone Kiosk. You have taught us a great deal about the differences in the types of Kiosks and we have had a wonderful time watching the restoration through the E-mail photo history you have created for us. The care and attention you have taken to the details of our phone box show the pride and pleasure you take in each stage of the restoration.
Purchases of this kind are not made lightly. We looked at several different companies and found that although, you were not the least expensive your personal interest in us and our wants and needs gave us the feeling that our box was top priority to you. You gave us a time frame for the restoration and worked diligently to keep that time frame. We are now certainly pleased by the extended personal attention you gave to each and every detail, to also include the delivery of our Kiosk to the shippers and the supervision of the crating, to ensure the packing is done to specification. We are looking forward to creating the perfect atmosphere for our bit of British nostalgia in our home in Florida.

We purchased a 1955 restored K6 telephone box from Carl Burge at 'Remember When UK' and would thoroughly recommend his services. Carl is extremely personable and most helpful, nothing is too much trouble. He operates with traditional values where courtesy and customer care are foremost, sadly all too often forgotten nowadays. The boxes themselves are beautifully presented and ours looks better in situ than we ever imagined. Our little girl Megan (2 1/2 years) loves it too! A huge thanks also to Will Chipchase who delivered the box and skillfully placed it. Will has his technique with the Hiab developed to an artform and did a fine job. We would highly recommend 'Remember When UK' to anyone looking to buy a piece of nostalgia and are sure that we will use them again for other items.

For all my adult life I have wanted a telephone box in my garden!
I ordered my 1946 George VI K6 Jubilee interior telephone box from Remember When UK having first chosen it when it had recently been sandblasted and primed. It was important to me that the box should be as close to original as possible. Now that the box has been delivered, I am not disappointed. The restoration work by Carl has been first class. I cannot fault it. During restoration Carl gave me weekly updates on progress and Emailed through loads of digital photographs. Now I have a great portfolio of the Box from collection in its' original state to final resting place in my garden.
I have no hesitation in recommending Remember when to anyone who is looking for 1st class service and a superbly restored box.

I can confirm that we are delighted with the finished product as indeed we were with the entire service you offered throughout. The restored red telephone kiosk arrived on Saturday morning, as per our arrangement, and we fell in love with it the moment we saw it gleaming in the sunshine as Will took the truck down our drive. From our very first email and telephone contact in June to the delivery of our kiosk, the whole process from ordering, purchasing, paying to final delivery were flawless and extremely professional. We particularly liked the fact that everything we discussed with you was backed up and confirmed by email and that you kept us informed of all stages of the restoration process. It was brilliant to receive photos of the various refurbishment stages and it is nice to not only own such a lovely restored product but also to know a little about its history and the "before and after" look.
Will Chipchase is charming and we had a very long and interesting chat whilst he very carefully and expertly unloaded and installed our kiosk. He put in the last glass pane which had to be taken out for delivery and left us with some extra paint in case any retouching up becomes necessary at some future point.
